Cruiser all over the road...
I had just bought a 1980 BJ40 Landcruiser, and i was having trouble stearing the thing in a straight line (no i didn't had five beers to drink ;-D ).
After checking a lot of blogs and handbooks, it was most likely that my tie rod ends were worn, but after changing them nothing changed. Than everybody asured me it was the center arm which needed replacement, after doing so nothing changed :-( . As you can imagine i became a little desperate, but after having a close look on the tires i noticed that one of the tires was deformed, due to age and over or underpressuring! After changing the tires my cruiser cruised like it should!
The only message i'm sending here is: When you buy an old or oldercar, don't take everything for granted, especially when cars like the BJ or FJ are used not too regulary, things like tires and their age are quickly overlooked, but they're SO important.
Keep on cruising: Theo
